BRIEF HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL

Mt. St. Michael’s Secondary School, Aliade is the oldest Catholic Secondary School in the North Central of Nigeria. It was founded on 2nd February, 1953 at Korinya, present day Konshisha LGA of Benue State by Holy Ghost Catholic Missionaries. The school later moved to its present location in Aliade during the fall season of 1954. The Management of the school has passed through the purposeful leadership of twelve Principals. Fr. Tor is the thirteenth Principal.
The pioneer Principal were:
Rev. Fr. Henry Pass CSSp (1953-1954)
Rev. Fr. Donald J. Murray CSSP (1954-1957) who later became the Catholic Bishop of Makurdi Diocese.
Rev. Fr. J.B O’Malley CSSp (1958-1960),
Rev. Fr. De Vertevil CSSp (1960-1961),
Rev. Fr. G. Roman CSSp (1961-1964),
Rev. Fr. J. Groves CSSp (1964-1972).
The First Indigenous principal was Mr. A.I Angereke (1972-1977), followed by Mr. D.D Dodo (1977-1986),
Mr. A. U. Ubaa (1986-1989),
Rev. Fr. Dr. N.N Tarbo (1989-1996),
Mr. C. T. Orbunde (1996-2007),
Mr. D. D. Akachir (2007-2015),
and now Fr. Terungwa Tor (2015 till date).
